Betesh recognised for
Outstanding Contribution
CELEBRATED industry entrepreneur Danny Betesh was presented with the award for Outstanding Contribution in front of a room packed with his peers, at the annual Live Music Business Awards last night.
The man behind Manchester’s long-standing agency and promotions company Kennedy Street Enterprises, Betesh was promoted the first headline tour by the Beatles in the 1960s and has worked with artistes such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, David Bowie and Barry Manilow, who gave a video tribute.
This year he co-promoted Take That’s record-breaking Progress tour, which included eight sell-out nights at Wembley Stadium, played to 1.8 million fans in the UK and Ireland and grossed more than £100 million in ticket sales.
A much-respected member of the live music community, Betesh received a standing ovation as he accepted the Award from long-tome friend and business associate Neil Warnock, CEO of multinational artiste booking company The Agency Group.
Among other award winners were London’s The O2 (Best Venue Teamwork: Arena, Take That’s Progress tour (Spectacle of the Year: Best Production)) and Adele manager Jonathan Dickins of September Management (Artiste Manager of the Year)..
The annual awards ceremony recognises excellence among the people who make contemporary live music events happen. In this, its second year, more than 250 promoters, agents, venue owners, production professionals, managers and media partners attended the ceremony and gala dinner at London’s Radisson Blu Hotel.
