Now in its fith year, this is the only event committed to presenting awards to the business people who drive the country’s contemporary live music industry.

The awards recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, through to artiste managers, tour managers, show producers, brand impact and record label partnerships.

Other awards include Breakthrough Artiste, Best Festival Performance, Unsung Hero and Outstanding Contribution.

Created by the publisher of LIVE UK – the only magazine dedicated to the companies and individuals working in this sector of the creative industries – the Live Music Business Awards takes place on the night of the annual conference and networking event LIVE UK Summit.

A submissions process via this website enables LIVE UK readers and the wider industry to nominate up to three contenders for each category, between Friday 26 July and Monday 5 August. Only nominations attracting 10 submissions or more will be eligible for inclusion in the on-going voting process.

Shortlists of nominees will then be created with the help of our specialist Voting Panels, comprising industry professionals able to evaluate merit in their respective categories. The shortlists will then be listed on this website for open voting between Monday 9 and midnight on Monday 16 September.

Participants can vote in all categories and across multiple nominees, and even return to alter their selection during the voting period, but will be barred from repeat voting.

Abusing the openness of this process, such as encouraging large numbers of non-music industry people to participate, is not appreciated. Any attempt to distort the results may result in the nominee being disqualified, which happened twice last year.

Details of the Top 3 finalists will be published on this website in advance of the event and in LIVE UK, with the winners announced at the gala presentation ceremony on Thursday 17 October.

The winners’ details will then be published in an exclusive Live Music Business Awards supplement of LIVE UK, following the event.

Of you chose to participate in the submissions and/or voting process, we urged you to be objective in how you make your selections. The fundamental aim of the Live Music Business Awards is that the winner in each category gets there on genuine merit for activities between October 2012 and September 2013.
